Avalanche Operations Consultants completed a comprehensive avalanche hazard and risk analysis for the operation and an audit of their existing avalanche risk management program. Ongoing work includes developing an industry-standard avalanche forecasting and risk management plan, providing avalanche forecasting services, providing professional development and training for the guiding staff, and a variety of related consulting services.
Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad
Avalanche Operations Consultants assisted in developing and implementing an industry-standard avalanche risk management system, including avalanche and weather observation data collection and display systems, as well as an avalanche risk forecasting and risk communication system. Additionally, a comprehensive risk analysis of the operation was conducted. Ongoing work includes the continued development of avalanche risk management and hazard mitigation systems, as well as training in avalanche mitigation and hazard forecasting.
